Studio.89 is not your average cafe! To start with, we are a non-profit community hub &, fair-trade cafe. Located in Mississauga, Studio.89 has been in operation since 2014 providing accessible programming that impacts the local community, as well as providing a free space for events, workshops, and resources.

We also rent our space for private events and meetings.

We are a free space for free community events and fundraisers! Yay! This means you can book the space and host your event while being mindful of others that may be in the community space.

Rental Policy Attendance & Series Events: While your event is listed in our community calendar, it is not our responsibility to ensure attendance. Due to a lack of resources, Studio.89’s social media is only used for internal and partnership events. Please note: If you are booking a series of events as part of a workshop or repeat event, 2 or more no-shows, or no attendance, will result in cancelling your event series. Thank you for understanding as we attempt to accommodate all requests. Ticketed Events: We ask for a 20% minimum donation based on profits/donations received from the event. For closed door Artademic Centre events, we ask for a minimum donation of $25 an hour. For any events taking place outside of cafe hours, or to shut our cafe doors for private events (giving you exclusive access to the entire space) there is a $125 hourly charge. Café Space (Lower Level): - Up to 40 guests - Two bathrooms, one accessible washroom - 8 tables - 24 chairs - 2 couches - 1 lounge chair - 1 Smart TV with USB, HDMI and Chromecast Connections - Popular room layouts: cafe layout, classroom style and theatre style - *Previous events hosted in this space include poetry slams, musical performances, networking events, paint workshops, board game gatherings, social justice panels and more.* Artademic Centre (Upper Level): - Up to 20 guests seated, 10 on carpet - Shoe-free Zone - Cozy and secluded space - 2 couches - 1 lounge chair - 2 small tables with 2 chairs each - Large boardroom table with 8-10 chairs - 1 TV with HDMI capabilities - two projector screens (free for use) - available projector ($50 charge) - *Ideal for private events and meeting, with no walk-in traffic* We have two bookable areas: Artademic Centre and Cafe. Both are available for closed private events and community events. Closed Artademic Centre, which means the entire upstairs is reserved for your event, requires a minimum $25 hourly donation. Any events taking place outside of open hours, or to close our doors for private events (giving you exclusive access to the entire space) require a minimum $125 hourly donation/fee.
Cancellation Policy To confirm your event, you will need to provide a credit card as a security deposit that applies to cancellation within 7 days of the event, damage and/or no-shows. The charge is $50.

Miscellaneous We have an in-house cafe; therefore, patrons at your event can have access to baked goods, coffee, tea, specialty drinks, sandwiches, wraps and soups. Everything is vegan, fair-trade and GMO-free. We also provide gluten-free options.
